Having a long weekend is always lovely. Mine was spent soaking up some quality family time in San Antonio with (almost) my whole family.

Saturday we went to Amber's shower for baby girl White (who's name shall remain secret until she arrives) then enjoyed an afternoon outside splashing around in Couper's pool. Mom, Dad, and I had dinner and drinks (and even saw Blake and Amanda!) until the wee hours of the morning. The night ended in a little R. Kelly karaoke by yours truly.

Sunday we heard Zak preach at Revolution church, then cooked out that evening with Ty and Madi as well! It's hilarious to see Couper interact with Madi and I cannot wait to see him take care of his baby sister once she is here!

Brittany made dinner and cake for my birthday last night so that we could celebrate...once again. It was such a lovely night! We had mac and cheese and hot dogs, then yellow cake with chocolate icing. In true Brittany form, the cake was covered in sprinkles.

Friday was my 24th birthday, so here are photos of the celebration festivities!

Friday morning at work Steph gave me this AWESOME cat shirt. We then ate with the office at Freddie's Place and enjoyed AMAZING cupcakes (I actually ate a smore's bar) from Sugar Mama's Bakeshop. Yum.

Friday night Jerrett took me to Rockin' Tomato for garlic pizza (my favorite) then we met some friends downtown for drinks. It was my most random night downtown ever, which of course, ended with Brittany and I dancing our hearts to our hearts' content.

Saturday we saw The Eggmen play at The Grove in Southpark Meadows. They are a local Beatles cover band that totally rock and I would highly recommend seeing them if you haven't.

We ended my birthday celebrations by seeing Rocky Horror at the Alamo Drafthouse, complete with wigs (and our friend Adriana) and a chocolate chip cookie milkshake. What a wonderful birthday!

Birthday week is always fun and full of excitement! My best friend sent me some amazing daisies to work yesterday for my birthday, I had drinks at Hula Hut with some friends, and my main squeeze made me cake. Nothin' like some friendly flowers, drinks by the lake, and chocolate cake to celebrate! Happy summer all!

Sadly, I didn't get to see my mom for Mother's Day, seeing as there are 360ish miles between us. In honor of her and her special day, here's a mother/daughter photo montage.

And here's how I actually spent the day: brunching with friends at Takoba and washing our cars with puppy. We took a semi-nap on the driveway to dry off and soak up some rays. Delightful and relaxed Sunday, it was.

I spent a good chunk of Saturday in Lampasses with this awesome writer at this equine therapy/retreat ranch. There will be a piece on the ranch in the next issue of L Style G Style magazine. I can't show you photos that will be in the magazine quite yet (duh), but here are some of the other animals on the ranch!

The chihuahua, Rosie, has no idea she's not the same size as the horses. Ferocious and bossy she is. The adorably puppy missing a leg, Miley, is bubbly and full of personality. There were tons of wildflowers along the trail to the ranch, where I caught up with some butterflies!

I had a lovely evening last night spent on South Congress with all of these people. We ate at Hopdoddy (the best turkey burger in Austin), got some candy at Big Top (so many salt water taffy flavors!), and even spotted a rainbow! Good times spent with good people.

We've had numerous rainy days here in Austin lately, which we still need pretty badly due to the drought. The first photo is our view from the On Your Mark office. Usually, you'd be able to see the downtown skyline perfectly beyond those trees.

Last night I couldn't stand it any longer. I had to play in the rain! I ran out into it long enough that I looked fresh out of the shower - if I had showered with all of my clothes on. Brrrr!

us ladies at On Your Mark (my friend Steph and myself included) sure love our snacks. we restocked our pantry this week, including AWESOME flavored popcorn from Cornucopia (i recommend the sour cream & chive, the sopapilla, and the caramel & milk chocolate flavors), which is a company involved in Austin's Go Local movement! we also stocked up on these weird/delicious/confusing peanut butter & jelly sandwich crackers. i would highly suggest running out and grabbing them ASAP.

when it rains here in Austin, it pours. at least for a few minutes. we had another storm go through the city last night, so i decided to venture out with my camera. it's been a while since i've done nighttime shooting, so it was fun to play around with light again.

this first image i shot without thinking, and without changing any settings on my camera. i like it because the long exposure made the lights look like music notes! the second photo is the side of my building and the last is the walkway outside my apartment, all abandoned and soaked. enjoy the rain today, i think we're getting more!
