June Recap

June was a wild and crazy month for me, which is why I haven't blogged in a while. Here's a quick recap of what kept me so busy, but I'll have more photos to share later when I have more time!

In a matter of seven days, I had three life changing experiences. Even though none of them were surprises, it was still an overwhelming and emotional week!

My best friend Heather married her man after months of planning and years of loving him. She was the most beautiful and easy going bride ever! It was such an honor to stand next to her on her special day.

Quickly after getting back to Austin from the wedding, kitty and I moved to a new home. It is charming and lovely and completely me. Here's a snapshot of one of my favorite details...sunflower tiles!

The day after moving, I became an aunt for the third time. EEK! Annabelle was born June 28th and is the prettiest baby. Congrats to Zak, Amber, and Couper!

Austin's Greenbelt

Jerrett and I took Fender to the Greenbelt last weekend for a lovely hike and swim. And by lovely, I obviously mean horrendous since it was almost 100 degrees out that day. The swim part was lovely, the hike was not.

summertime sunflowers

Summertime has OFFICIALLY begun, which means the colors around Austin are absolutely amazing. I don't know how I haven't noticed this before (I'm going on year 7 of being an Austinite), but sunflowers are everywhere! I first noticed them in Jerrett's front yard. Now, I literally see them along roads all over the city. My mama taught me well and they are my favorite flower, so I'm glad to see them every day!

weekend excitement/Texas Forever

Here's how my weekend went:

Friday: Night out on the town with my main squeeze (at home, at Halcyon enjoying tabletop smores, getting a drink on Lanai's rooftop). What a lovely date night! 

Saturday: Watching the finale of Friday Night Lights courtesy of the Austin Television Festival (this is the festival's first year), Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow style (in a parking lot on a blow up screen). 

The evening included quite a few cast members as well: Jesse Plemons, Gaius Charles, Scott Porter, Michael B. Jordan, Matt Lauria, Madison Burge, Ernest James, Alicia Witt, executive producer Jason Katims, and the lovely Louanne Stephens (pictured). TEXAS FOREVER.

There were also random celebrity sightings of Jason Ritter and Judy Greer. The night ended, of course, with a brew at Doc's. Yum!
